Job Summary
Assistant Women’s Lacrosse Coach at Centre College. Under the Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach, assist in leadership of coaching, recruiting, and administrative duties for a highly competitive Division III program. Responsibilities include organizing, preparing, and conducting practices, training, and competitions; recruiting student-athletes in compliance with Centre College, SAA, and NCAA rules; ensuring safety guidelines during training; assisting in daily program operations (recruiting, field setup, equipment maintenance); supporting fundraising initiatives; and performing additional duties assigned by the Head Coach or Director of Athletics. Reports to Head Coach; secondary duties reported to Deputy AD. Requires Bachelor’s degree and prior collegiate experience as a player or coach; CPR/AED/First Aid certifications and a valid driver’s license; strong knowledge of lacrosse rules, NCAA DIII philosophy, diversity, and ability to foster a positive team environment; willingness to travel and engage in a collaborative, inclusive culture.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with previous collegiate experience as a player or a coach required
- previous collegiate coaching experience preferred
- CPR, AED, and First-Aid certifications will be required upon employment
- valid driver’s license required prior to employment – and maintained throughout.
- Knowledge and Skills: Demonstrated knowledge of the sport of women’s lacrosse and its playing rules; ability to foster a team environment; Demonstrated coaching skills in sport of lacrosse; commitment to NCAA Division III philosophy of athletics; commitment to work effectively with diverse populations; integrity and ethics; ability to recruit, retain, and mentor student-athletes; strong communication, motivation, and counseling skills; willingness to travel
