Assistant Women's Basketball Coach (part-time)

Job Summary
Conduct training sessions to develop team skills while scouting opponents and providing in-game coaching support. Recruit and retain qualified student-athletes by assessing talent and managing recruiting logistics. Enforce departmental standards of behavior and monitor the physical and mental well-being of student-athletes. Support the head coach with scheduling, academic monitoring, eligibility tracking, and supply purchases. Manage general administrative tasks, event coordination, and facility supervision as assigned. This part-time role requires evening and weekend availability, travel for games and recruiting, and a valid driver's license. Candidates must hold current CPR, AED, and first aid certifications and comply with NCAA Division III and athletic conference rules. The position reports to the Head Coach and involves representing the Athletics Department at conferences and meetings.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree from accredited college or university
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to successfully complete a background check, motor vehicle check, and drug test
- Current CPR, AED, and first aid certifications
- Compliance with NCAA Division III rules and regulations
- Compliance with athletic conference rules and regulations
- Ability to demonstrate and teach sport-specific skills required
- Physical ability to include standing and/or walking for long periods, bending, kneeling and stooping, manual dexterity, and ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
- Evening and weekend availability
- Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel for both games and recruiting
- Flexibility with an evolving work environment
- Ability to learn and apply University policies and procedures to ensure operational compliance and reliable judgment
- Ability to set and achieve or exceed goals and meet deadlines
- General computer knowledge with a proficiency in Word and Excel
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Collegiate playing experience
- Previous coaching experience at the collegiate, high school, and/or club level
- Demonstrated success in scouting, talent assessment, and recruitment of qualified student-athletes
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills, whether dealing with individuals or groups, and an ability to work well with different constituents
- Strong initiative, detail, and follow-up skills with student-athletes, staff members, and administration
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Experience with Front Rush or similar recruiting software
