Job Summary
Supervise athletes before, during, and after practice and games, ensuring safety and enforcing school conduct codes. Assist the head coach in planning in-season and out-of-season conditioning programs, instructing fundamentals, and managing team statistics. Oversee equipment storage, maintenance, and inventory while securing facilities and locker rooms. Coordinate with maintenance staff, issue press releases, and attend staff meetings and scouting assignments. Complete the VHSL coaching education test and maintain knowledge of district, state, and league regulations.
Required Qualifications
- GED or high school diploma
- Valid Virginia Driver's License
- Must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport
- Must continue to examine new theories and procedures pertinent to the field
Desired Qualifications
- Successful coaching experience in assigned sport
- Valid Virginia Teaching License
