Job Summary
Assistant Water Polo Coach assists the Head Coach in delivering engaging water polo practices and events, providing hands-on instruction, guiding player development, supervising practices and games, reinforcing fundamentals and sportsmanship, and upholding safety and YMCA policies. Responsible for setting up equipment, supporting clinics and special events, communicating observations to the Head Coach, and modeling YMCA values while working with a diverse youth population. Evening and weekend availability required; role emphasizes coaching, safety, and leadership in an indoor pool environment.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age 18
- Knowledge of water polo fundamentals, gameplay strategy, and rules
- Prior experience playing or coaching water polo preferred
- Strong communication skills and ability to motivate and support youth participants
- CPR/AED & First Aid certification required (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Lifeguard certification preferred but not required
