Job Summary
Assistant Volleyball Coach at South Charleston High School (Kanawha County). Responsibilities include developing high-caliber instruction, teaching fundamental skills, organizing coaching staff, designing practice sessions and pre-season planning, supervising managers and support personnel, managing team budget and purchasing procedures, ensuring proper care and handling of equipment, enforcing WVSSAC and league policies, and maintaining positive relationships with participants, staff, parents, and the community. Requires completion of WVSSAC Training and Certification Program, online Concussion Awareness Course, and certification as a coach through the WV Department of Education; costs for these trainings apply to non-teaching applicants. Applicable duties also include attendance at league and WVSSAC meetings, maintaining professional conduct, and meetings with administrators and officials.
Required Qualifications
- WV teaching certification or WVDE teaching permit or substitute permit
- High school diploma or GED
- WVSSAC certification
- Complete WVSSAC Training and Certification Program and On-line Concussion Awareness Course (costs listed)
- Must meet all cost and certification requirements for WVSSAC coaching eligibility
