Job Summary

Lead and oversee high-level structural engineering projects for bridges and transportation infrastructure, coordinating design, construction, and rehabilitation from inception to completion. Develop construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates; mentor staff; manage budgets and subcontractors; engage with clients and regulators; advance technologies and modeling techniques in support of safe, durable, and compliant transportation structures. Must hold a Professional Engineer license, with 10+ years of post-education experience in civil/structural engineering.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or closely related discipline)
  • 10+ years of post-education experience in civil or structural engineering of bridge and transportation structures
  • Professional Engineer licensure required (multi-state preferred)
  • Highly proficient with civil and structural engineering principles, practices, processes, traditional and alternative delivery, and the application to project work-related issues
  • Highly proficient with planning, design, and construction as it relates to rehabilitation, reconstruction, new design, and construction of bridge and transportation structures
  • Strong knowledge of relevant civil and structural construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements
  • Experience with planning and conducting inspections and investigations on various aspects of the design and construction of bridges and transportation structures
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across engineering and non-engineering audiences
  • Strong self-leadership and stakeholder management abilities
  • Proficiency with technical writing and design software
  • Experience with preparing complex technical deliverables and plans
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
  • Ability to coordinate and manage subcontractors and ensure safety and efficiency
  • Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to health and safety policies
  • Flexibility to accommodate project schedules and travel as required
  • Occasional travel may be required
