Job Summary

Lead the structural engineering of buildings and architecturally complex structures from concept through construction, including tall buildings, long-span spaces, adaptive reuse, façade-supporting systems, and other signature architectural elements. Provide leadership to structural engineering teams through mentoring, staff development, technical oversight, and workload planning, while driving growth in the local market through client relationships and pursuit of new opportunities. Apply advanced structural analysis, parametric design, BIM-enabled coordination, and digital delivery workflows to deliver efficient, constructible solutions. Direct the use of structural modeling, computational design, and performance-based approaches to evaluate gravity, lateral, vibration, and serviceability demands. Oversee investigations, condition assessments, and rehabilitation strategies for existing buildings, translating findings into practical, code-compliant solutions. Collaborate with architects, owners, developers, and project teams to develop design criteria, construction documents, and QA/QC processes, leveraging emerging technologies and data-driven decision-making to improve quality and outcomes. Represent the practice in the local market through client engagement, proposals, and cross-office collaboration, while supporting growth initiatives and capturing new business opportunities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineer license required; SE licensure and multi-state registration preferred
  • 10+ years of post-education experience in structural engineering
  • Experience leading structural engineering teams
  • Strong knowledge of building codes and regulatory requirements for building design
  • Proficiency in structural analysis, technical calculations, and development of code-compliant solutions
  • Experience with structural assessments, investigations, and retrofit strategies for existing buildings
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams
  • Proficiency with ETABS, SAP2000, RAM, SAFE, Revit, Rhino/Grasshopper, AutoCAD and other structural analysis and digital delivery platforms
  • Occasional travel may be required
  • Demonstrated ability to develop client relationships and pursue new business opportunities
  • Ability to mentor staff and lead teams in delivering complex building projects
