Job Summary
Lead statutory accounting and reporting initiatives as Assistant Vice President, Statutory Reporting within Global Atlantic and its affiliates. Own preparation, review, and analysis of quarterly and annual statutory financial statements, disclosures, and regulatory filings; guide a team to ensure accurate, timely reporting in compliance with insurance regulations; drive process improvements and collaborate with Finance, Actuarial, Investments, Legal, Operations, and other partners; interpret complex accounting guidance and provide technical recommendations; coordinate annual statutory audits and respond to auditor requests; leverage Excel and Oracle PeopleSoft or similar ERP systems to support reporting and controls.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA designation preferred
- 6-8+ years of progressive statutory accounting and reporting experience within the life insurance and annuity industry
- Leadership experience managing, mentoring, or developing accounting and financial reporting professionals
- Experience preparing and reviewing statutory financial statements, Blue Books, Green Books, and related regulatory filings
- Strong understanding of financial reporting processes, accounting controls, and month-end/quarter-end close activities
- Demonstrated ability to research and interpret complex accounting and regulatory guidance and apply conclusions to business transactions
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with financial reporting and general ledger systems, including Oracle PeopleSoft or similar platforms
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams
