Job Summary
Assistant Vice President responsible for maintaining books and records for private partnerships and accounts, and reporting to clients and the portfolio group. Responsibilities include accounting for pooled private investment funds organized as limited partnerships and/or separate accounts; reconciliation of cash, investments and real property; recording and reconciling purchase and sale transactions; accounting for complex corporate actions; estimating and posting monthly closing accruals; calculating income and expense allocations to each partner, including updating of distribution waterfall; determining and preparing distributions and draw-downs; preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports; analyzing performance metrics for partnerships/accounts and investments; coordinating with funds’ independent auditors, custodians, prime brokers and fund administrators; and performing other tasks as required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA a plus
- 10-12 years relevant accounting or audit experience (Big Four + investment management)
- Strong knowledge of reconciliation and account analysis
- Understanding of investment company accounting rules
- Experience with back leverage facility/financing structure
- Knowledge of investment exclusions rights/participation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to coordinate with auditors, custodians, prime brokers, and fund administrators
