Job Summary
Assistant Vice President, Audit lead role overseeing design, execution, and continuous improvement of the internal audit program across clinical, financial, operational, and research processes; responsible for billing compliance audits (revenue cycle, CMS, payer regulations) and IT audits (cybersecurity, EHR, HIPAA Security); build and lead an analytics function leveraging data analytics, AI/ML, and continuous monitoring to drive risk-based auditing and predictive insights; act as deputy to the Chief Compliance Officer with authority in CCO’s absence; primary liaison to ERM and Corporate Compliance Committee/Board ACER; responsibilities include audit methodology, KPI tracking, reporting, fraud prevention program development, and enterprise risk management integration. Key skills include leadership of audit analytics, audit report writing, risk assessment, compliance with IIA Standards, and experience with audit tooling (AuditBoard, Workiva) and ERP/EHR systems; strong communication with senior leadership and governance bodies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required
- CFE, CISA, CIA, CHIAP preferred
- 12+ years progressive audit leadership in healthcare
- Manager level experience in evaluating risk in healthcare providers
- Experience building audit analytics functions (tools, dashboards, continuous monitoring)
- Proficiency in MS Office; experience with EPIC EMR, 3M, and other encoding/billing applications preferred
