Job Summary
Oversee daily operations of the Filmmaker Lounge, managing volunteer and vendor staffing to ensure guest experience standards. Act as the primary host, greeting guests, liaising with restaurant management for cleanliness and service, and coordinating special activations including private seating and catering. Train and schedule delegated staff, create inventory for donated products, and submit daily venue status reports. Participate in pre-festival planning meetings, walkthroughs, and team assessments while maintaining direct communication with the Director of Events and venue catering services. Submit a seasonal staff wrap report by the festival's conclusion.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years event and hospitality experience
- Professional, friendly, and welcoming, demeanor, attire
- Ability to work late nights, evenings, and weekends during the festival
- Must be comfortable working independently and as part of a larger team
- NYFF conducts all of its events in person. While some hybrid work can be accommodated, staff are expected to report onsite during the festival
Desired Qualifications
- ideally proficiency with databases and event management software (Zkipster, Wordfly, Eventival)
- Comfortable with Google Suite (Gmail, Google Docs, Sheets, Forms)
