Job Summary
Assistant Varsity Girls Basketball Coach (HS) – Bettendorf High School in Bettendorf, IA. Responsibilities include leading and mentoring student-athletes, fostering a positive team culture, organizing meetings with parents, ensuring forms and concussion paperwork are completed, preparing and issuing equipment and uniforms, enforcing eligibility rules, coordinating home events and facilities, supervising locker rooms, attending practices and games, reporting injuries, assisting with media notes and stats, and contributing to equipment purchases. A high school diploma or equivalent and an Iowa coaching license are required, with the possibility of an extended contract if the team advances. Stipend provided for the 2026-27 school year.
Required Qualifications
- Must have valid U.S. citizenship, permanent residency, or an active work visa
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Must have or be able to obtain an Iowa Coaching license
- Ability to work well with others and willingness to assume responsibility
- Ability to effectively supervise students while maintaining a positive relationship with them
- Enjoys working with young people as well as staff and parents
- Capable of representing the school in a professional manner, including confidentiality and good communication
- Commitment to regular attendance and appropriate dress
- Ability to organize and conduct meetings with parents to discuss policies and expectations
- Experience in organizing and supervising athletic events and facilities
- Knowledge of training rules and eligibility regulations
- Ability to supervise equipment and uniforms and ensure inventory accuracy
- Ability to notify media of outcomes and prepare stats
