Job Summary
Support Underwriters by performing data collection, file preparation, and SOV ingestion for underwriting review and pricing. Pursue missing information from applications and correspondence with brokers, agents, and customers. Underwrite endorsement, reinstatement, and cancellation transactions within prescribed authority levels. Analyze data including year build, square footage, and loss runs to prepare recommendations. Order and manage inspection requests, screening results for risk acceptability or price point changes. Perform data entry of insurance requests and conduct policy reviews ensuring compliance with underwriting rules. Take agent calls to resolve service-related questions and work independently to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent minimum
- A minimum of 2 years of Property-Casualty insurance with underwriting support experience is preferred
- Strong working knowledge of Excel and other company systems
- Ability to work in a team environment essential
- Proven organizational skills and ability with strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to work independently on multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines
- Interest in continued education and professional development to obtain full underwriting authority
- Knowledge of policy processing and documentation
- Knowledge of applicable insurance products, standard business policies, practices, and procedures
- General understanding of basic analytical and financial techniques
- Maintains an understanding and adheres to state-specific statutes involving underwriting, applicable insurance laws, and regulations
- Works well with management and co-workers
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- This role will be onsite for a minimum of 3 days a week in our Tampa, FL office
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree or Bachelor's degree
- Experience specifically in the Commercial Lines Excess & Surplus insurance space
- Prior Customer Service experience
