Job Summary
Assistant Trainmaster responsible for coordinating and supervising train movements within yard/terminal and mainline to ensure safe, cost-effective operations. Leads train and engine personnel, ensures compliance with operating plans, and maintains safety through observations and engagement. Requires ability to coordinate processes for arrival, classification, building, inspecting, and dispatching trains; provides leadership on safety, service, productivity, and financial metrics; may operate trains and maintain CROR/GCOR certifications as required; strong communication, troubleshooting, and proficiency with MS Office tools are essential. Pre-employment medical and background checks are required; location is Sudbury, Ontario, Canada.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/general equivalency diploma
- Valid driver's license
- Experience in railway operations or as conductor/locomotive engineer is an asset
