Job Summary
Provide high-level administrative and operational support to the Chair of the Mechanical Engineering Department. Responsibilities include managing the Chair's schedule, coordinating travel, preparing background materials for meetings, composing and editing confidential correspondence, assisting with advancement activities (donors, CV materials, and related inquiries), and managing department HR processes (tenure, promotions, merit reviews, and faculty data). Also oversee supervisory duties for the Office Manager, coordinate faculty searches and interviews, arrange visas and permanent residency for foreign faculty and postdocs, and support department communications, publications, and outreach. Requires strong judgment, discretion, independent judgment, and excellent written/verbal communication, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite; experience in an academic environment is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Public Administration or related field
- Two years progressively responsible experience in administrative management and/or executive support
