Job Summary
Assist students individually or in small groups under teacher supervision to reinforce instruction and support learning in a Title I/EOY-funded end-of-year role. Duties include supervising students in classrooms, halls, cafeterias, and during field trips; enforcing school policies; preparing teaching materials and displays; coordinating with teachers to support instructional efforts; supporting attendance procedures, data collection, and portfolio management; and participating in bus/transportation duties. Requires knowledge of curriculum standards, various learning styles, classroom management, and effective communication; ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and engage in professional development. Minimum qualifications include an Associate’s degree or 48 credit hours, completion of relevant apprenticeship or WorkKeys training, and ability to meet state/federal requirements for instructional support staff. Location is Charlotte, NC, with on-site duties at Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree or 48 credits
- WorkKeys and 96 hours or DOL Teacher Assistant Apprenticeship
- Completion of NC DOL TA Apprenticeship Program
- Ability to pass formal assessment
- Educational background in curriculum and instructional strategies
