Job Summary
Conduct group and private tennis instruction for ages 3 and up while maintaining accurate student records, attendance books, and class sign-ups. Utilize the scheduling and commission systems to book clients and ensure timely payroll processing. Promote the game locally by inviting at least eight people monthly to leagues, social activities, or tournaments, and assist management in organizing USTA or in-house events. Answer member inquiries courteously and participate in weekly Service Game training sessions. Maintain a professional appearance in the club uniform and wear a name badge. Available for a minimum of 12 hours weekly, with flexibility for extra hours, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Required Qualifications
- USTA member
- USPTA Professional Level or Recreational Coach, or USPTR certification
- Minimum of 2 years teaching experience
- Customer Service Skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks
- Must be able to work extra hours, weekends, and holidays if needed
- Proven track record of accountability and integrity
- Familiar with various teaching tools needed to carry out principal responsibilities
- Ability to play and teach tennis, requiring standing, running, directional movements, swinging of racquet, and holding of multiple tennis balls for at least 8 hours straight per day
- Physical Requirements: Bend, stoop, crouch, climb, stand, sit and turn/pivot; Lift/lower, push, pull and carry up to 40 lbs; perform office tasks using simple hand grasping, fine hand manipulation and reach associated with assigned tasks such as paperwork, typing, and/or word processing, filing, calculating and use of telephone; See, hear, and speak with sufficient capability to perform assigned tasks and maintain proper job safety conditions
- Available to instruct a minimum of 12 hours per week
- First Aid/CPR Training
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of three to four years of college education preferred
- Previous involvement with USTA or local/state tennis organizations
- College playing experience preferred
- Cardio Tennis experience preferred
- 10 & under specialist experience preferred
