Job Summary
Conduct high-quality tennis practices, training sessions, and individualized development plans while supporting the Head Coach in athlete development, tournament preparation, and recruiting. Provide instruction in stroke production, match strategy, and footwork, utilizing video analysis and performance technology to enhance competitive performance. Collaborate with performance staff on injury prevention, maintain open communication with student-athletes and parents, and mentor athletes in discipline and life skills. Assist with operational responsibilities including practice setup, tournament logistics, and travel coordination for showcases and camps. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of instructional equipment and methodologies used within the Academy's tennis programs.
Required Qualifications
- High standard of proficiency in tennis coaching, training techniques, and athlete development
- Experience playing, coaching, or managing tennis at the collegiate, academy, club, national, or professional level
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-performance environment
- Strong commitment to student-athlete development, welfare, and academic success
- Ability to lift, move, push and pull equipment or boxes in excess of 40lbs
- Ability to handle outdoor temperatures for a reasonable period of time
- Must be able to move around campus which includes gym, turf, fields, etc
- Ability to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends and holidays
- Valid driver's license with ability to travel for tournaments, recruiting events, and team travel
- Requires a background check upon offer
- Requires a drug test upon offer
- This position requires a Florida Level 2 Background Screening
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience coaching elite or nationally ranked tennis players
- Knowledge of tennis performance analytics, video analysis, and player development technology
- Experience with recruiting and college placement processes
- Bilingual preferred
- CPR Certification preferred
- Experience working camps, clinics, showcases, and player development programs
