Job Summary
Assistant Technical Superintendent – Cruise role supporting safe, reliable technical operation of assigned cruise vessels, assisting the Technical Superintendent and coordinating maintenance, compliance, budgeting, and technical readiness. Responsibilities include monitoring machinery and equipment performance, planning and following up maintenance and repair activities, forecasting technical needs and spare parts, ensuring vessel certification compliance, assisting with dry-dockings and major repairs, preparing and monitoring OPEX & CAPEX budgets, and supporting vessel visits, inspections, and audits. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or equivalent (or Chief Engineer/Od Officer qualification) and sailing experience as a technical/engineering officer; shore-based experience is a plus. Proficiency in English, strong planning/coordination, clear communication, teamwork, and familiarity with vessel technical systems and marine regulations. Located in Hamburg, Germany with flexible working hours and home-office entitlement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or equivalent, or Chief Engineer / Officer qualification
- Sailing experience as a technical or engineering officer, preferably on cruise vessels
- Shore-based experience in technical ship management is an advantage but not mandatory
