Assistant Technical Director

Job Summary
Draft and engineer scenic elements, analyze designs to estimate costs, and confirm build plans for all Fulton Theatre productions. Lead projects from engineering through strike, creating technical construction and installation drawings while collaborating with the Master Carpenter. Assist with load-in, strike, and scene shop maintenance, and help develop summer maintenance and capital projects. Drive a 16' box truck and program CNC routers as required. Work with the Technical Director and Production Manager to maintain working standards and instruct staff on safe construction techniques.
Required Qualifications
- Computer literacy, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Google Suite, and AutoCAD
- Advanced 3D AutoCad knowledge
- BA/BFA in technical theatre, or 3-5 years of experience in a professional scene shop
- Structural and technical design skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and work with tight deadlines
- Commitment to working in a collaborative environment serving a wide variety of constituents
- Be able to maintain a professional demeanor at all times
- CNC router programming
- Ability to drive a 16' box truck
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in theatrical rigging, inclusive of counterweight and winch systems
