Job Summary
Teach engaging, interactive physics courses for majors, minors, and non-majors while modernizing and developing course materials in existing classes. Create new courses and curricula tailored to changing student needs. Contribute to the NYIT community through service activities including student academic advising, mentoring, recruitment initiatives, and participation in department, college, and school-wide committees. The teaching load is 21 credit hours per year. This initial two-year appointment may lead to subsequent three-year and five-year contracts with opportunities for promotion.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Physics or a closely related field by the time of appointment
- Demonstrated success in undergraduate teaching
- A commitment to educating students from different backgrounds
Desired Qualifications
- Experience creating and teaching advanced undergraduate laboratory courses
- Experience and future plans for meaningfully involving undergraduate students in physics research
