Job Summary
Assistant Teachers for Kindergarten through Second Grade at Wissahickon Charter School (Philly campuses) with duties spanning classroom support, small-group instruction, one-on-one guidance, classroom management and纪律 follow-up, substitute teaching when needed, and outdoor Forest School activities. Responsibilities include assisting lead teachers, leading breakout groups, instructing one-on-one, communicating with the lead teacher and parents, supporting discipline and RC/“Talk it Out” conflict-resolution methods, performing administrative tasks, and ensuring student welfare during recess and transitions. Qualifications emphasize a High School degree with a preference for higher education credentials, experience with urban K-2 students, ability to collaborate with diverse staff, and compliance with FBI and PA clearances. Required Qualifications
- High School degree required
- Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred
- A degree in education is a plus
- Experience working with students in a similar age range
- Appreciation of the unique strengths and challenges of students in grades K-2
- Ability to work with a variety of colleagues who have diverse planning and teaching styles
- Commitment to learning about and consistently implementing WCS curricula and behavior management systems
- Reflective and open to feedback and coaching
- All required FBI and PA clearances
- Interest in the mission of Wissahickon Charter School, and a belief that all children can learn
