Job Summary
Assistant Teacher at Seeds to Seedlings supports the Lead Teacher in creating a nurturing, play-based learning environment aligned with Minnesota's early learning standards. Responsibilities include implementing age-appropriate lesson plans, supervising children, maintaining a positive classroom culture, assisting with documentation and progress monitoring, supporting family communication, and collaborating with colleagues to promote social, emotional, and cognitive development. The role requires strong communication, teamwork, ability to meet physical demands (including lifting up to 65 lbs), adherence to state licensing, and readiness for background checks; CPR/First Aid certification is preferred or obtainable within 30 days. The position offers a Monday–Friday schedule in Minnesota with pay between $14 and $18 per hour, along with benefits such as health/dental/vision insurance, PTO, holidays, 401(k), and childcare discounts.
Required Qualifications
- Must meet the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) Assistant Teacher qualification requirements.
- Knowledge of early childhood development principles and best practices.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, which may include - standing or sitting for extended periods of time. Lifting and carrying young children and classroom materials - up to 65lbs.
- Willingness to undergo background checks and meet state licensing requirements for working in a childcare setting.
- Must possess a valid CPR/First Aid certification, or willing to obtain within 30 days of employment.
