Job Summary
Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans and prepare classroom materials to ensure a safe, clean, and inviting learning environment. Support children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through active engagement, supervise daily care routines, and provide individualized support to foster a sense of belonging. Communicate with families about their child's progress and daily activities while adhering to health and safety guidelines and licensing regulations. This role involves working productively without supervision in a supportive, collaborative team at a state-of-the-art facility, offering opportunities for advancement and professional development.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children
- Must pass required state background checks and meet state minimum education, experience and credential requirements
- 45 DCF training hours
Desired Qualifications
- associate or bachelor's in Early Childhood Education
- Previous experience working with young children in a licensed childcare or preschool setting
- Basic understanding of child development
