Job Summary
Support students in achieving academic, social, and behavioral goals outlined in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) by working one-on-one and in small groups to reinforce classroom instruction. Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment while encouraging student independence and implementing individualized behavior support plans. Provide personal care support including toileting, feeding, dressing, lifting, and transferring, and assist with transportation and school transitions. Collaborate with teachers, therapists, families, and other professionals to promote student success, while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment. Work an average of 15 hours per month as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least 18 years of age
- Valid driver's license for at least two and a half to three years
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to follow instructional plans and directions
- Compassion, patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude
- Ability to safely assist students with mobility and personal care needs
- Participate in ongoing training and maintain required certifications, including V-Endorsement
Desired Qualifications
- College coursework in Education or a related field
- Experience working with children or individuals with disabilities
- Experience in a classroom or educational setting
- Knowledge of student development and behavioral support strategies
