Job Summary
Assist the lead teacher in daily activities including art, science, music, and movement while interacting with students, parents, and other staff. Create a supportive learning environment by encouraging children to develop social, emotional, and physical skills through field trips and guided exploration. Work primarily 2pm to 6pm, with flexible scheduling adjustments based on college courses, to foster an engaging after-school experience for children ages six weeks through 11 years.
Required Qualifications
- 18+ years of age
- 1+ year experience in a childcare center
- 2+ year of full-time college credits in Education or a related field; or be working towards a degree in Education
- Meets the requirements under MN Rule 3 to be an Assistant Teacher
- CPR/First Aid Certified, or willing to become certified
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children and families
- This is a part-time M-F position. Hours are primarily 2:00 - 6:00 PM.
