Job Summary
Plan and implement age-appropriate curriculum while integrating health, safety, and nutritional education. Provide care, supervision, and safety for center children, maintaining clean and orderly classroom and playground equipment. Encourage self-esteem and independence to meet the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical needs of each child. Learn, implement, and follow all program policies and procedures, including program operations in the Head Teacher's absence. Work 35 hours weekly for 52 weeks, covering operational hours from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM on a rotational basis. Maintain required certifications in pediatric first-aid, CPR, AED, and medication administration, along with a valid CT Childcare Pediatric First-Aid, CPR, AED, and medication administration certification.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's OR Associate's degree in ECE or related field OR valid CDA with required 12 OEC/ECE credits
- Enrolled in a program that will lead to an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in ECE or a related field with required 12 OEC/ECE credits
- Enrolled in a Child Development Associate credential (CDA) program and obtain the required 12 OEC/ECE credits
- Have access to reliable, insured transportation
- Provide a TVCCA Staff Statement of Good Health signed by a physician, physician's assistant, or nurse practitioner completed within twelve (12) months before the date of employment, and every Thirty-six (36) months for current staff
- Must have or obtain and maintain CT Childcare Pediatric First-Aid, CPR, AED and medication administration certification
- Must have or obtain within 90 days of hire the Care 4 Kids Health and Safety Training
- Have the credentials to obtain a Connecticut Head Teacher License from the Department of Public Health
- Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 50lbs
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- Be able to work 35 hours/week, 52 weeks/year
- The TVCCA Little Learners Early Education Program requires staff to be available from 7:00AM – 5:00PM to cover center operational hours on a rotational basis
- Continue professional development per funding source requirements
- Strong Computer skills
- ability to effectively communicate with children, parents, staff and volunteers
