Job Summary
Assist children individually or in small groups to reinforce learning concepts and master assignments presented by teachers. Supervise students in classrooms, halls, cafeterias, school yards, gymnasiums, and during field trips while enforcing administration policies. Instruct and monitor students on the proper use and care of equipment to prevent injuries. Discuss assigned duties with classroom teachers to coordinate instructional efforts and observe student performance to record relevant data for progress assessment. Perform necessary clerical tasks to support teachers and provide additional assistance and instruction aligned with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools standards. This role requires an Associate's degree or equivalent education and two years of experience working with elementary age children.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an Associate's Degree
- two years of higher education equivalent to 48 credit hours
- ability to pass a formal assessment (Workkey and 96 hours of in-service training)
- completion of the NC DOL Apprenticeship Program
- completion of the NC ATA Professional Development Plan
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's Degree with a concentration in Education
- 2+ years working with elementary age children
