Job Summary
The Goddard School in Swedesboro, NJ is hiring a full-time Assistant Teacher for the Infant Room. You will support the Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans, foster children’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical development through active engagement, prepare classroom materials, supervise and provide individualized support, communicate with families about progress and daily activities, and ensure a safe, clean, inviting learning environment while adhering to health, safety, and licensing requirements. Strong empathy, the ability to work independently, and a basic understanding of child development are needed, along with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and pass state background checks. The role emphasizes a nurturing, collaborative classroom that promotes growth and a premium educational experience for young children.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's in Early Childhood Education preferred
- Shows empathy and compassion for young children
- Works productively without supervision

- Must pass required state background checks and meet state minimum education, experience and credential requirements
