Job Summary
Care for, supervise, and ensure the safety of classroom children while assisting staff in planning and implementing age-appropriate curriculum. Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly classroom and playground environment. Integrate health, safety, and nutritional education into curriculum planning to encourage self-esteem and independence. Operate the program in the Head Teacher's absence and strictly follow all program policies and procedures. Prioritize the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical needs of each child from all backgrounds.
Required Qualifications
- Valid CDA with 12 credits in ECE
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in ECE or a related field with 12 ECE credits
- Access to reliable, insured transportation
- CT child care first-aid certification
- Child CPR certification
- Medication administration certification
- TVCCA Staff Statement of Good Health statement signed by a physician, physician's assistant, or nurse practitioner completed within twelve (12) months before the date of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Enrolled in a program that will lead to an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in ECE or a related field with 12 ECE credits, to be completed within three years of the time of hire
- Enrolled in a CDA credential program, and obtain 12 ECE credits to be completed within two years of the time of hire
