Job Summary
Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans and preparing classroom materials to ensure a safe, clean, and inviting learning environment. Support children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through active engagement, individualized support, and supervision of daily care routines. Communicate with families regarding child progress and daily activities while adhering to health and safety guidelines and licensing regulations. This role requires a High School diploma, preferred Associate or Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education, and 45 DCF training hours. No nights or weekends; childcare discount and professional development included.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children
- Must pass required state background checks and meet state minimum education, experience and credential requirements
- 45 DCF training hours
Desired Qualifications
- associate or bachelor's in Early Childhood Education
- Previous experience working with young children in a licensed childcare or preschool setting
- Basic understanding of child development
