Job Summary
Assist teaching staff of Head Start and/or State Preschool Child Development Center to facilitate activities promoting children's social, physical, and intellectual growth. Responsibilities include planning and implementing age-appropriate educational activities, conducting daily health checks, supervising children, involving parents, maintaining a safe learning environment, and assisting with record keeping and assessments. A valid Child Development Permit or equivalent education is required, along with CPR and First Aid certification.
Required Qualifications
- Valid California Child Development Associate Teacher Permit or higher
- First Aid and CPR
- 6 ECE units with a pathway to earning a Child Development permit
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree or enrolled in a program in early childhood education, child development, or related field
- 24 ECE accredited units
- Completion of training on curriculum, instruction, teaching practices, CLASS, and DRDP
Additional Requirements
- Must present proof of identity and employment eligibility
- Must submit a medical examination
- Must have a valid California Driver's License or reliable transportation
- Must obtain fingerprint clearances from DOJ, FBI, and CACI
