Job Summary
Part-time floating Assistant Teacher supporting Bezos Academy’s Montessori-inspired preschool programs across Seattle-Tacoma-area locations. Responsibilities include assisting in classrooms, supervising meals, and supporting overall school operations; maintaining child and family records; completing Montessori basics training within seven days of hire; assisting with classroom setup, safety checks, meal prep/cleanup, laundry, and occasional after-school activities; and communicating effectively with children, families, and staff. Minimum qualifications include age 18 with a high school diploma or GED, ability to pass background checks and TB screenings, ability to lift up to 40 lbs, reliable transportation, and a valid Food Handler’s Permit (or willingness to obtain one). The role is part-time (15-25 hours/week) with a schedule Monday–Friday (des Moines, Tacoma, Federal Way, Renton, Kent Valley campuses) and compensation ranging from $26-$29 per hour with paid sick time and a 401(k) with employer match. Required Qualifications
- Age 18 with high school diploma or GED
- Ability to pass background checks and TB screenings
- Completion of trainings required by the state of Washington to supervise children independently
- Ability to independently supervise, communicate effectively with, and care for young children safely (lift minimum 40 lbs)
- Access to reliable transportation to and from work
- Must have valid Food Handler’s Permit or be willing to obtain one
- Ability to complete 20 hours of onboarding by seventh day of employment
