Job Summary
Support the implementation of the High/Scope® educational approach and the Hanen Learning Language and Loving It™ Program by assisting E.C.E. teachers in creating program plans that reflect children's interests and diverse cultural needs. Participate in short and long-term planning, evaluate activities, and assist in observing and assessing children's progress to ensure individual and group needs are met. Provide Individual program plans for children with special needs, demonstrate empathy to the family unit, and practice respectful communication with children, parents, and colleagues. Support children experiencing difficulties, help them understand their feelings, ensure activity areas are maintained, and guide children in developing independent habits for eating, dressing, and toileting. Work Monday to Friday between 7 am and 6 pm.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience with children in a child care centre or educational setting
- Knowledge of best practices in the early learning and childcare sector
- Well-developed skills in areas such as leadership, communication, organization, assessment, teamwork, confidentiality, commitment and accountability, initiative and creativity
- Awareness of diversity and social inclusion
- Medical required – including TB (two stages) 6 months current to hiring date
- Police Vulnerable Sector Check 6 months current to hiring date
- Standard First Aid and CPR, level C
- Able to work Monday to Friday between 7 am-6 pm
