Job Summary
Supervise and maintain safety of children at all times while interacting and encouraging them in activities. Assist with planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum, organizing whole-child development activities, and adapting instructional materials to meet varying needs. Observe each child daily to assess skills and interests, then facilitate learning through provided resources. Develop positive relationships with children and families, share daily information, and maintain a safe, organized classroom environment. Help maintain facility conditions and attend professional meetings to improve competence. This part-time role operates from 11am to 6pm.
Required Qualifications
- High school Diploma or GED
- 30 college credit hours, with 15 related to early childhood education (if Whipple/Seeley: Associate degree in early childhood education or child development and Gateways to Opportunity ECE Credential Level 4 OR Infant Toddler Credential Level 4)
- Demonstrated success in working as a member of a team
- Effective and strong oral and written communication skills
- Proficient supervision skills
- Regularly required to stand, walk, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear
- Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Must frequently lift up to a 30-pound child
