Job Summary
Assist Lead Teacher in planning and implementing early childhood education experiences and daily program activities; supervise classroom in Lead Teacher's absence; help set up learning centers, prepare materials, and maintain an organized classroom; support family involvement and observe/report on children's behavior; participate in staff meetings and ECC functions; perform housekeeping tasks and lift/assist children as needed; demonstrate professionalism and dedication to the safety and development of children in the ECC at Hillel Day School.
Required Qualifications
- High school degree or equivalent
- Understanding of current early childhood education practices
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to effectively interact and relate to children in a developmentally appropriate manner
- Ability to lift children, bending, stooping, stretching, squatting, pushing and pulling, and sitting and walking
- Attend weekly staff meetings
- Observe, record and report on the behavior of individual children as assigned
