Job Summary

Assist the lead teacher in implementing evidence-based curricula and designing developmentally appropriate lessons for children ages 0-5. Prepare classroom materials, conduct small group activities, and provide individualized instruction to ensure school readiness. Monitor student progress through assessments and data analysis, while supporting behavioral challenges and maintaining accurate records. Engage families via home visits, conferences, and recruitment events to foster community involvement. Adhere to all licensing requirements, safety protocols, and confidentiality laws. Work flexible hours in-person or hybrid as determined by department needs.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent credits (in any area)
  • Bachelor's Degree (in any area)
  • Master's Degree (in any area)
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) credential
  • Enrollment in a CDA credential program that will be completed within 2 years
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Two years' experience working with infants and toddlers
  • Two years' experience working with children with special needs
  • CPR/first aid certification
  • Child Abuse Mandate certification
  • Infectious Control certification
  • Mental Health First Aid certification
  • HIPAA compliance
  • Active membership with Aspire
  • Active membership with Registered TEACH Account linked to CA
  • Completion of all Early Childhood required trainings
  • Completion of self-assessment surveys
  • Completion of video recording experiences
  • Completion of coaching sessions
  • Completion of collaboration sessions
  • Completion of program-wide goal setting
  • Completion of individual and program self-assessment
  • Adherence to state and city licensing requirements
  • Adherence to teacher child/ratios
  • Adherence to privacy laws
