Job Summary
The Assistant Teacher at Saint Gabriel Preschool Center supports the Lead Teacher in creating a nurturing, faith-filled environment for children ages 2–5. Responsibilities include assisting with daily classroom activities, supervising students, maintaining a safe and organized environment, guiding positive behavior, and communicating with staff and families. Qualifications include Virginia VDOE requirements for Assistant Teacher, preferred experience working with young children, strong communication skills, and CPR/First Aid certification.
Required Qualifications
- Meets Virginia VDOE requirements for Assistant Teacher
- Experience working with young children (ages 2–5) preferred
- Strong communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Ability to maintain a positive, structured classroom environment
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Desired Qualifications
- Early Childhood Education coursework or CDA
- Experience in a Catholic or faith-based setting
- Bilingual (Spanish/English)
