Job Summary
Plan and implement a comprehensive preschool program using the CHSofNJ HS curriculum and Head Start Performance Standards. Assist the teacher in classroom activities, set up and maintain the learning environment, and organize material storage. Work in a team setting to determine individual child needs, supervise field trips, and recommend parent volunteer utilization. Greet families, facilitate smooth transitions, and provide home-based activities to support the curriculum while maintaining ongoing communication. Maintain accurate records for child attendance, USDA food reports, and classroom operations. Requires a state-awarded certificate or associate's degree in Early Childhood Education, First Aid and CPR certification, and minimum three years of preschool experience. Temporary assignment for 3 to 4 months at $21.51 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- A state-awarded certificate (i.e. Paraprofessional Certificate), or an associate's degree (60 college credits)
- Early Childhood Education
- First Aid and CPR Certification
- Experience teaching pre-school children
- Experience working with preschool aged children and families
- minimum of three years' experience working with preschool aged children and families
