Job Summary
Create a safe, nurturing environment that supports life and social skill development for youth receiving services. Recognize and address challenging behavior using Therapeutic Crisis Intervention training, including physical interventions when necessary. Provide guidance to unit staff on treatment goals and documentation, while organizing youth schedules and activities. Manage emergency responses and ensure a sanitary physical living environment. Supervise residential staff, including scheduling and training, and facilitate team meetings to document decisions. Adhere to funder requirements, agency policies, and governmental regulations. Perform duties of a Youth Care Professional with variable scheduling including evenings and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a residential care setting
- CPR certification
- Unrestricted, valid NYS driver's license for minimum of 1 year with a clean driving record
- Minimum insurance coverage that meets agency standards

- Weekly lifting up to 50 lbs.
- 10-15 lbs. on a daily basis
- Weekly carrying up to 55 lbs. approximately 10-100 ft.
- 10-15 lbs. on a daily basis
- Manual dexterity is required, including the frequent ability to grasp in both hands and continuous use of fine manipulation skills in both hands
- Occasional exposure to change in temperature, dust, fumes, gases or chemicals
- Close toed shoes
- Protective shields, universal Precaution PPE, and gloves for toileting and food preparation
- Ability to change positions as needed
- Physically restrain clients weighing between 50 and 300 lbs. and guide them safely to the floor
- Restraints can last up to 15 minutes and may require repetition as necessary
Desired Qualifications
