Job Summary
Create a safe, nurturing environment for youth while recognizing and addressing challenging behavior using Therapeutic Crisis Intervention training. Provide guidance to unit staff on treatment goals, organize youth schedules, and manage emergency responses. Supervise residential staff, including scheduling and training, and facilitate team meetings to document process changes. Ensure a sanitary living environment and adhere to funder requirements and governmental regulations. Work a variable schedule including evenings and weekends, with physical demands involving driving, lifting, and continuous balancing.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a residential care setting
- CPR certification
- Unrestricted, valid NYS driver's license for minimum of 1 year with a clean driving record
- Minimum insurance coverage that meets agency standards
- Ability to work a variable scheduling including evenings and weekends
- Occasional sitting (up to 4 hours)
- Occasional standing (up to 2 hours)
- Occasional walking (up to 2.5 hours)
- Occasional driving (up to 8 hours)
- Continuous balancing (up to 8 hours)
- Occasional balancing, bending, stooping, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, reaching forward or down, reaching overhead, running, and twisting (up to 2.5 hours)
- Weekly lifting up to 50 lbs.
- 10-15 lbs. on a daily basis
- Weekly carrying up to 55 lbs.
- 10-15 lbs. on a daily basis
- Manual dexterity
- Ability to change positions as needed
- Ability to physically restrain clients weighing between 50 and 300 lbs.
