Job Summary
Coordinate daily warehouse operations, workflow, and inventory movement while leading and coaching team members to ensure safety, teamwork, and accountability. Assume supervisory responsibilities and make operational decisions when Operations Supervisors are unavailable, ensuring continuity of order fulfillment and productivity. Monitor performance metrics, identify efficiency improvements, and resolve operational issues while maintaining compliance with safety procedures and company policies. Assist with employee training, onboarding, and development. Work collaboratively with other departments to support business goals.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of one (1) year of warehouse experience with Norfolk Iron & Metal
- demonstrated commitment to safety, teamwork, and performance
- Minimum of two (2) years of warehouse, manufacturing, or distribution leadership experience
- Proven leadership ability with the skills to motivate, coach, and develop others
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Working knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, and safety practices
- Ability to prioritize tasks, make sound decisions, and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work varying shifts based on operational needs
Desired Qualifications
- Current forklift certification and experience operating industrial forklifts
- Experience operating overhead cranes in a warehouse or manufacturing environment
- Experience using an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system or warehouse management software
- Completion of supervisory or leadership training, or a demonstrated history of successful team leadership
- Experience with continuous improvement initiatives, workflow optimization, or Lean manufacturing principles
