Job Summary
Supervise maintenance staff by assigning tasks, coordinating work progress, and following up on repairs. Identify physical plant deficiencies and establish corrective action plans for repair or replacement. Train porters to meet high-quality standards while making necessary repairs yourself. Adhere to strict OSHA compliance and manage inventory and dispensing of materials and supplies. You must have supervisory experience in building trades, a valid US driver's license, and basic understanding of electrical wiring, plumbing, and HVAC systems. This role supports HELP USA's mission to provide clean living spaces for over 500,000 people facing homelessness, with an annual operating budget approaching $150 million.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Supervisory experience in building trades or building maintenance
- Ability to use tools and equipment associated with building physical plants
- Basic understanding of and experience with electrical wiring, boiler mechanics, plumbing, and HVAC systems
- Ability to interpret diagrams, shop drawings, blueprints, and schematics
- Problem-solving skills
- A valid US driver's license
