Job Summary
Supervise maintenance staff by assigning work, coordinating tasks, and tracking progress. Identify physical plant deficiencies and establish corrective action plans for repairs or replacements. Train porters to meet high-quality standards while making necessary repairs yourself. Adhere to strict OSHA compliance and manage inventory and dispensing of materials and supplies. This role requires supervisory experience in building trades, knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, and a valid driver's license. Located in Brownsville, Brooklyn, this hourly position offers health insurance, PTO, and a 401(k) with company contributions.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Supervisory experience in building trades or building maintenance
- Ability to use tools and equipment associated with building physical plants
- Basic understanding of and experience with electrical wiring, boiler mechanics, plumbing, and HVAC systems
- Ability to interpret diagrams, shop drawings, blueprints, and schematics
- Problem-solving skills
- Valid US driver's license
