Assistant Superintendent - Solar Install

Job Summary

Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and craft team members on utility-scale solar projects, managing labor, safety, and scope of work from setup to closeout. Review and approve worker certifications, coordinate timecards, and oversee equipment logistics including cranes and trailers. Monitor weekly labor reports, manage production boards, and support project managers with schedule development. Perform quality control audits and participate in site orientation and safety meetings. This 100% travel role requires rotations home every three weeks and is open to candidates with a construction background and basic solar field knowledge.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3 years construction management or related experience
  • Current driver's license
  • Ability to travel up to 100%
  • Must be currently legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship for employment visa status

Desired Qualifications

  • Completion of or interest in Master, Journeyman, or Apprentice electrician program preferred
  • Electrical circuitry qualified or ability to be qualified by Mortenson Electrical Managers, if necessary
  • Ability to fulfill development to closeout responsibilities for multiple, complex projects
  • Organize and manage multiple project tasks
  • Basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices
  • Microsoft Office, project, and pertinent web application skills
  • Positive and professional attitude with strong customer service skills
  • Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies
  • Active listening skills and effective communication, open to diverse input and feedback

  • Prefer candidates that understand the basics of a utility scale solar field - piles, racking and modules
