Job Summary
Assistant Superintendent leads job planning and coordination for commercial construction projects within the Healthcare Group, partnering with the Site Superintendent and Project Manager to develop and manage a comprehensive job plan. Responsible for reviewing plans and specifications, procuring tools and labor, coordinating with architects, owners, subcontractors, and clients, ensuring safety, integrity, and quality, and updating leadership on progress. Must manage project metrics including schedules, scope, resources, costs, and change orders, while adhering to building codes and construction methods. Proficiency with BIM360 or similar tools and strong communication skills are essential, along with prior field experience in ground-up commercial construction and the ability to interpret complex instructions and plans.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience preferably in commercial construction
- 3+ years of experience in ground-up construction
- Experience in mechanical and plumbing systems preferred
- A demonstrated knowledge of construction processes
- Knowledge of building codes and blueprints
- Knowledge of subcontractors’ scopes of work and quality requirements
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Has strong problem-solving skills, showing the ability to deal with a variety of variables given general construction, moderate structure and direction, and interprets a variety of complex instructions
- The ability to process information quickly and follow through with a course of action
- Has experience using programs such as BIM360 or similar and ability to learn new technological programs
- Two to three year’s prior field experience in commercial construction preferred
- Craft skills in concrete, or other building trades or equipment operation preferred
- Multi-family high rise experience is a plus
- The full salary range for this position is $95,000 to $115,000. This position is eligible for a target bonus
