Job Summary

Assistant Superintendent at SKYGRiD Construction supporting the Project Superintendent on high-rise construction projects in the Greater Toronto Area. Responsibilities include coordinating with laborers and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with design, budget, and schedule, maintaining quality and safety on site, providing administrative and technical support, developing construction plans, managing subcontractor activities, attending required meetings with consultants and subtrades, ensuring documentation and logs are accurate, overseeing procurement and material deliveries, reviewing site work, monitoring MS Project schedules, supervising field engineering and finishing disciplines, directing site laborers and reviewing timesheets, and reporting progress to stakeholders. This role also involves implementing the company Safety Program, conducting weekly toolbox talks, liaising with City officials for permits and inspections, and performing other duties as required. Required Qualifications

  • Educational and experience requirements include a Construction-related University Degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of construction high-rise experience.
  • Proven leadership ability.
  • Strong knowledge of structural drawings.
  • Foresight to predict problems before they develop.
  • Advanced knowledge of various construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, quality control, engineering drawings, and other documents.
  • Knowledge of Tarion and B19 requirements and guidelines, considered an asset.
  • Proven ability to achieve “building occupancy” with city officials.
  • Ability to assume responsibility, interface, and clearly communicate with others.
  • Enthusiasm for challenges and new initiatives.
