Job Summary
Supervise selected project phases and coordinate trades, including subcontractors, while planning construction techniques, crew deployment, and equipment requirements. Purchase general materials, requisition rental equipment, and manage inbound and outbound truck shipments. Enforce company safety programs, inspect work for quality and code compliance, and resolve deficiencies. Advise management on extra work requests and handle hiring, termination, and disciplinary actions for employees and subcontractors. Complete performance reviews, train Permanent Construction Employees for promotion, and manage project operations in the Superintendent's absence. Requires travel to project locations and current First Aid, CPR, and OSHA 10-hour certifications.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- five years applicable construction experience
- two years supervisory experience in construction environment
- 4-yr degree in Building Construction or a related field of study
- Good organizational and verbal communication skills
- attention to detail
- Ability to independently carry out detailed written and verbal instructions
- Ability to provide effective verbal and written instructions
- Good analysis and observation skills
- Ability to monitor resources, schedules and materials, in an environment of multiple, competing demands
- Excellent troubleshooting abilities in tough situations
- Understanding of applicable building codes
