Assistant Store Team Leader

Job Summary
Greet neighbors and their pets, assist the Store Team Leader in analyzing sales results to maximize productivity, and adhere to operational policies for cleanliness, animal care, and safety. Lead team engagement by recognizing performance, coaching staff on development, and recruiting new hires. Operate store equipment including forklifts while maintaining a fully staffed team through onboarding. Partner with community organizations for events and marketing. This role requires 2+ years of retail leadership experience, a college degree, Microsoft Office proficiency, and flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays. Candidates must pass drug, background, and selection tests.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience leading a retail team
- 4-year college degree or equivalent work experience
- Microsoft Office knowledge
- good communication skills
- The ability to operate all equipment – including a forklift – to run the store
- being able to climb ladders, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 plus pounds
- flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays
- reliable transportation
- pass the pre-employment drug, background and validated selection test
- 18 years of age or older
