Job Summary
Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Sales Manager to drive sales, develop talent, and execute company initiatives. Responsibilities include participating in interviewing and building a talent pipeline, providing direct feedback using competency-based language, motivating associates to build brand loyalty, modeling exceptional customer service, training staff on SOPs, ensuring merchandise presentation standards, and safeguarding company assets through loss prevention procedures. The role requires leadership in delivering a high-quality shopping experience, guiding the team on performance and store standards, and adapting to changing priorities in a fast-paced retail environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 1-3 years of supervisory experience, specialty retail preferred
- Excellent customer engagement
- Must be effective communicator
- Must be able to plan and execute strategies
- Must be adaptable and flexible to changing priorities
- Excellent time management, planning, and organization skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and evening shifts
- Ability to maneuver on sales floor and stockroom; climb ladder, lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Proficient in Microsoft applications
